Find a care home?

How do I find a care home? This is the first question any potential resident and their relatives may ask. There are a wide range of resources to help find a care home, including the Warwickshire County Council page on residential care homes, which can be found here https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/residentialcare. This page lists all care homes registered with the Care Quality Commission.

It is important to find a care home which provides residents with plenty of activities and opportunities to engage with others so they can live fulfilled lives while receiving the care they need. Different care homes may have some variation in facilities, but most provide residents with their own room or a room they share with one other resident, and most also have recreational spaces such as dining rooms and living rooms. Many, such as Bromson Hill in Warwick, also have outdoor areas, such as a patio, from which residents can view the English countryside.

Bromson Hill Nursing Home offers many activities to residents each week, including armchair exercises, music therapy, hair salon, bingo, and others. When finding a care home, making sure the home prioritizes resident happiness is extremely important. Staff should be attentive, friendly, and caring. Some homes, such as Bromson Hill, are nursing homes in addition to being care homes, so if residents require nursing care, they are able to provide that. Nursing homes are required to have a registered nurse on the premises 24 hours each day to make sure someone is always there to attend to any needs which may arise.

Please contact us if you have any questions about what we offer to our residents. We would be delighted to answer your questions.

Our fee rate starts from £1150 per room. In the event you are wholly or partially funded by social workers, please email or call the Home for more information. The Home retains the Funded Nursing Care to pay for our nursing costs and this is made clear in our contracts.

We aim to keep our charges in line with other similar homes. Depending upon your ability to pay, your local authority may pay some of the costs towards your care. Your local authority will assess your income including your pension and benefits as well as any savings you may have and possibly your home if nobody else lives with you. The value of your home will not be counted towards this until 12 weeks after your admission to permanent nursing or residential care.
You may also be entitled to other benefits, which include Attendance Allowance and Pension Credit. For more information, please contact the Benefit Enquiry Line on 0800 88 22 00 or speak to your GP, nurse or indeed feel free to call us for more information.
