Dear relatives, friends and families,

We are excited to write this letter regarding Bromson Hill Nursing Home visitation policy. Bromson Hill is a care and nursing home based near Warwick, equi-distant from Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa. It is just off junctions 12/13 of the M40 and close to Ashorne and Gaydon. It is a countryside family owned independent home. Hopefully our location means it is a nursing and care home near you.

Since recent government announcements we have been busy gathering information about what we can and cannot do.

We have worked hard here over the last year keeping residents and staff safe. Our residents have received their first dose of the vaccine, and 100% of staff received their first dose of the vaccine and some have already had the booster dose. The residents' boosters are booked for April 12. At Bromson Hill, we will continue to keep your relatives safe as much as we can - staff are tested 3 times a week and residents are tested once a month as per government guidelines. We have all become experts in infection control, all with several certificates to prove it! Items coming into the home continue to be sanitised or quarantined. Masks continue to be mandatory for all staff and PPE worn as per government and local authority infection control guidance.

But... the light is at the end of the tunnel. The sun is on its way and you are allowed back inside.

Please find below our plans on how to manage this going forward:

  • Visits will be by pre-booked appointment only.

  • All visitors will require testing before entering the home.

  • We will be offering weekly PCR tests for those visitors who would like to come regularly as well as the rapid response tests on the day of the visit.

  • Visitors are not required to have had the vaccine.

  • For now just one visitor per visit, but we will be allowing more than one registered visitor per resident.

  • Distanced, screened visits will still be on offer. If you feel that you may be a high-risk individual for the time being this may be more appropriate.

The procedure of internal visiting:

  1. Book visit a minimum of 24 hours in advance

  2. Please do not use public transport to get to the visit.

  3. Please wear clean/freshly laundered clothes and do not stop on the way to the visit so as not to contaminate yourselves in a public space - no nipping out for petrol or flowers.

  4. On arrival at Bromson Hill please stay in the car and call 01926 651166, a staff member will meet you at the car.

  5. Your temperature will be taken at the car.

  6. We will walk you to the conservatory for testing.

  7. Please leave gifts and goodies outside the porch (in front door), these will need to be quarantined or sanitised by our staff.

  8. A swab will be taken of your throat and nose and tested on site. Results take 30 minutes.

  9. Once a negative result has returned, your loved one will be brought to you.

  10. Once your mask is applied please do not remove it or touch it until your visit is completed and you are outside the home.

  11. Visiting, for the time being, will be within conservatory.

  12. Please remember to regularly sanitise your hands; there are lots of opportunities to do this within Bromson Hill.

  13. Please do not remove your mask. Unfortunately, no refreshments or food will be able to be consumed during your visit.

  14. Sit back and enjoy some quality time with your loved one. We’ve missed you!

Yours sincerely,

Ram Mahendran, Nominated Individual

Our Fees: Information and Support

Here at Bromson Hill we understand the difficulties of searching for a care home that fits for you. Finances can be one important aspect in finding a perfect care home. We put our residents needs first in terms of supporting and giving guidance in this area, whether it's you searching for a care home or you are searching for a loved one. We have provided the information to see if you are entitled for funding from your local authority below. In our FAQ, we also address questions you may have concerning this subject. If you have any more questions, please contact us via email or phone call at the address provided below. We would love to answer any questions and find ways to support you if Bromson Hill is the right fit for you!

Our fee rate starts from £1150 per room. In the event you are wholly or partially funded by social workers, please email or call the Home for more information. The Home retains the Funded Nursing Care to pay for our nursing costs and this is made clear in our contracts.

We aim to keep our charges in line with other similar homes. Depending upon your ability to pay, your local authority may pay some of the costs towards your care. Your local authority will assess your income including your pension and benefits as well as any savings you may have and possibly your home if nobody else lives with you. The value of your home will not be counted towards this until 12 weeks after your admission to permanent nursing or residential care.
You may also be entitled to other benefits, which include Attendance Allowance and Pension Credit. For more information, please contact the Benefit Enquiry Line on 0800 88 22 00 or speak to your GP, nurse or indeed feel free to call us for more information.
