Caring for an elderly loved one can be rewarding, but it can also be physically and emotionally demanding. That’s where respite care comes in. This service offers temporary care for elderly individuals, giving family caregivers a much-needed break while ensuring their loved one continues to receive quality care.

Respite care can last for a few days or several weeks, depending on the caregiver’s needs. It’s an excellent option for families who may need time to recharge or attend to other responsibilities. For the resident, respite care offers a chance to experience a new environment, participate in activities, and socialize with others.

It also provides peace of mind for families, knowing that their loved one is in a safe and caring environment, receiving the attention and support they need.

At Bromson Hill Nursing Home, respite care is designed to provide both residents and their families with a break while maintaining high-quality care. The home offers flexible respite care options, ensuring that short-term residents enjoy the same compassionate attention, stimulating activities, and comfortable environment as permanent residents. This helps families recharge, knowing their loved ones are well cared for.

We aim to keep our charges in line with other similar homes. Depending upon your ability to pay, your local authority may pay some of the costs towards your care. Your local authority will assess your income including your pension and benefits as well as any savings you may have and possibly your home if nobody else lives with you. The value of your home will not be counted towards this until 12 weeks after your admission to permanent nursing or residential care.
You may also be entitled to other benefits, which include Attendance Allowance and Pension Credit. For more information, please contact the Benefit Enquiry Line on 0800 88 22 00 or speak to your GP, nurse or indeed feel free to call us for more information.
